Senior Engineer (Software Assurance)

Overview

In this role you will contribute to software assurance across railway projects, working with the Security and Software Assurance team to support planning, validation, and maintenance. You will help define software acceptance plans for complex systems and perform independent reviews and incident investigations. The role blends technical software leadership with a focus on safety-critical delivery within a high-performance team. You’ll operate in a context that values sustainability, accessibility and innovation in transport infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Provide software technical support across railway projects
  • Support activities from planning to validation and maintenance, including system-level support
  • Define appropriate software acceptance plans for complex systems
  • Conduct independent reviews and software assurance activities (gap analysis, incident investigation)
Key requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Science Engineering or similar
  • Software lifecycle knowledge
  • Software Planning (SQAP, SVVP and SCMP)
  • SW Requirements Management
  • Software design and architecture principles
  • Traceability management
  • Software Change Management
  • Software Testing and principles knowledge
  • Software Verification and Validation
  • Software Configuration Management
  • EN 50128 and/or EN 50657 knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, high-performance team
  • Software lifecycle knowledge
  • Software planning and life-cycle models (SQAP, SVVP, SCMP)
  • Requirements management
