In this role you will design, implement, and maintain high-performance data systems and APIs for a growing systematic trading business. You’ll onboard and profile new datasets, ensuring data quality and availability for research and trading. You’ll collaborate with alpha research teams and drive scalable, reliable data infrastructure that accelerates discovery and reduces time to market. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with significant impact on platform performance and research workflows.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain high-performance data acquisition, storage, and retrieval systems and APIs (including real-time data)
- Ensure data quality, history, and availability for ongoing use
- On-board and profile new datasets for the platform in collaboration with research teams
- Support systematic alpha research projects and accelerate data/alpha discovery
- Coordinate across multiple projects and stakeholders to maintain schedule and quality
- Improve platform stability, scale, and integration with research processes
- Degree in Computer Science or related field with computational focus
- 7+ years hands-on development experience building and supporting production systems
- Python proficiency with OO and functional styles and strong design patterns
- Strong understanding of system architecture and full technology stack
- Experience with collaborative software development practices (version control, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews)
- Craftsman-like approach to writing clean, efficient code
- Knowledge of one or more databases (Postgres/MSSQL, Redshift/Snowflake, KDB/OneTick)
- Solid understanding of time-series data and temporal queries
- Linux platforms and scripting
- Understanding of financial markets and instruments (cash equities)
- Experience in a front-office trading environment (systematic/quantitative)
