Senior Engineering Manager Data AI

Lead Scotiabank’s Data & AI Technology engineering teams in Toronto while writing production code and guiding secure, scalable platforms.

This Senior Engineering Manager role combines hands-on software engineering with people leadership and delivery accountability. You will manage and develop engineering managers and senior technical leaders while shaping enterprise platforms, products, and operational outcomes. Current coding depth across ReactJS and Java supports technical direction, design decisions, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and retain high-performing engineering teams
• Design, implement, review, and troubleshoot production solutions
• Set technical direction and resolve complex engineering trade-offs
• Manage delivery metrics, capacity, quality, risk, and technical debt
• Lead incidents and communicate service health to stakeholders

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent practical experience
• Seven-plus years leading enterprise-scale production engineering organizations
• Experience managing managers or senior engineers
• Strong coding proficiency across modern software engineering practices
• Cloud, APIs, microservices, security, resiliency, and distributed systems experience
