Senior Financial Analyst - CIGNA

This Senior Financial Analyst role will be supporting the Cigna Canada and all its subsidiaries’ companies in Canada. The role will provide value-added, in-depth financial analytics for Management and supporting finance functions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly reporting packages for financial review discussions and regulatory filings.
• Prepare annual financial statements with notes.
• Conduct data mining to assist in preparing a comprehensive financial overview.
• Provide value-added financial analysis and financial result dashboards.
• Research, monitor and analyze all regulatory, accounting and tax standards.
• Research and report on industry data analysis to management.
• Assist with maintaining supplementary lead schedules.
• Assist with the preparation of plan and forecast.
• Assist in the facilitation of audits with external auditors.
• Assist in maintenance of accounting policies and procedure documentation.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Assist in finance projects and initiatives as needed.
• Perform other ad‑hoc tasks as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree and a recognized Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA) is required.
• Proficiency in report writing and presenting findings (e.g. PowerPoint Presentation).
• Ability to analyze and interpret statistical and financial information.
• 3+ years of progressive work experience with an audit background.
• Experience in the financial services industry, preferably within the insurance industry.
