Senior Financial Analyst Research

Lead financial accounting and analysis at McMaster University, supporting MIRA and CLSA research initiatives on-site Monday to Friday. Manage complex reporting across research programs.

As Senior Financial Analyst, you will oversee accounting, procurement, reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis for diverse research projects. You will provide specialized guidance on accounting principles, tax, compliance, and financial policies. The work supports faculty, staff, researchers, and national partners across MIRA and CLSA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead year-end reporting, accounting, tax, and compliance activities
• Coordinate deliverables across university departments and external partners
• Review journal entries and recommend appropriate accounting treatment
• Lead audits and external financial reporting requirements
• Develop complex spreadsheets for financial analysis and reporting

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field
• Minimum three years of relevant experience
• Professional designation pursuit or MBA
• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel
• Strong reconciliation, budgeting, and financial reporting experience
