Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Lead IFRS financial reporting at Gibson Energy’s Calgary Head Office, using consolidation expertise and technical accounting judgment in a full time permanent role.

The Senior Accountant supports external and internal reporting across Finance, FP&A, Tax, and Operations. You will prepare quarterly and annual consolidated statements, MD&A, disclosures, and Audit Committee materials. The hands-on scope includes complex IFRS research, Workiva reporting, and external auditor coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and supporting reconciliations
• Research complex IFRS issues and prepare technical memoranda
• Build Workiva documents, linked schedules, and validation checks
• Coordinate external auditor requests through resolution
• Lead assigned month-end and quarter-end close activities

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA designation and 5-8+ years progressive accounting experience
• Financial reporting experience in a publicly traded environment
• Strong IFRS expertise, analytical ability, and professional judgment
• Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience
