In this Senior Firmware Engineer role, you will shape architectures and firmware for Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems as part of the APNT team. You’ll work closely with engineering leadership to deliver modular firmware and digital designs that integrate across FPGA, DSP, and SoC platforms. The position offers exposure to cutting-edge defence technology, collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams, and opportunities to influence product architecture and verification. You will operate on-site across multiple UK facilities, contributing to a growing defence business.

- Architect and implement firmware and software for digital domain solutions (FPGA firmware, DSP algorithms, modelling)
- Develop modular firmware and software architectures
- Create and verify requirements, ensure DO-178/DO-254 compliance
- Define unit and subsystem level tests and support design reviews
- Collaborate with systems, software and electronics engineers and produce technical documentation
- 10+ years in firmware/firmware architecture roles
- Experience with FPGAs and SoC technologies, especially Xilinx
- Proficiency in VHDL FPGA design
- Model-based design and testing against requirements
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Mentor for junior engineers
- Eligibility or holding of current SC security clearance
- Ability to work independently in dynamic environment
