Senior FIX Connectivity Analyst (VP) to certify and onboard external clients and vendors to trade electronically via FIX, collaborate with business units and IT on new electronic trading functionality, and provide production support for the FIX platform. You will manage client onboardings, influence automation opportunities, and liaise with FIX networks, OMS providers, and cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable, and compliant trading infrastructure. This role combines technical ownership with stakeholder engagement to enable efficient client connectivity and trading operations.
Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end client FIX onboarding including testing and data setup
- Write enrichments or rules to normalise FIX messages for Bernstein platforms
- Collaborate with FIX networks and OMS providers to improve electronic offerings
- Provide 1st/2nd line production support for FIX-related issues
- Estimate, prioritise, and schedule work across clients
- Advise business on client-specific functionality implementations
- Manage day-to-day client onboarding workload and progress updates
- Coordinate with IT, Operations, COO on onboarding and trading/middle-office requirements
- Identify risks and escalate issues during client setup
- Update documentation for new products/workflows
- Review processes and propose automation to reduce delivery time/costs
- Identify automation opportunities via scripting (e.g., Python)
- Support multi-client onboardings and production issue management
- Troubleshoot connection and production issues from first principles
- Build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, brokers, and venues
- Operate autonomously or in a project team
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and deliver high-quality solutions
- Maintain focus on delivery dates and targets
- FIX protocol Subject Matter Expert with experience in a similar investment banking environment
- Extensive experience with trading platforms; development and/or support background preferred
- Practical experience with Raptor trading systems FIX engine or alternative (UL Bridge, Fidessa Portal)
- Knowledge of Python, Perl for scripting
- Unix/Linux environment experience
- Experience with software development lifecycle and Agile Feature Team
- Knowledge of equities trading workflows (DMA, Algo, Care, PT, RFQ)
- Ability to manage multiple onboardings, projects, and issues simultaneously
- Troubleshoot FIX and production issues from first principles
