Senior Flight Systems Engineering Engineer

In this role you will design, develop, integrate and support aircraft systems across mechanical, electrical and fluid domains. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, innovative solutions through the full engineering lifecycle. The position sits within the Flight Systems Engineering Team at Filton, contributing to high-profile military platforms. You’ll help ensure performance, reliability and certification readiness across complex aircraft systems, while supporting customers and suppliers. • Lead and perform engineering activities across the full product lifecycle (requirements capture, design, modelling, testing, verification, certification)
• Develop and support flight systems spanning mechanical, electrical and fluid domains
• Provide technical support to customers, investigating and resolving issues to sustain performance
• Support manufacturing and build-line activities with effective problem-solving
• Produce and release high-quality engineering documentation per standards
• Use modelling tools to assess performance and validate designs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, customers and suppliers to implement solutions
• Manage multiple work packages across projects and platforms to meet quality, cost and schedule targets
• Contribute to technical reviews, design assessments and continuous improvement initiatives

• Experience in aerospace or a similarly complex engineering environment
• Demonstrable leadership experience leading engineering teams
• Strong technical and analytical capability to interpret system design data
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and specialist engineering tools/software
• Experience supporting design, development, integration, testing or certification of complex systems
• Experience managing multiple engineering work packages across projects and platforms
