Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Technical Data Architect)

In this role you will lead architecture and delivery of production-grade data and AI solutions for enterprise customers using Databricks. You work closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable, secure architectures and implement end-to-end data pipelines, ML/AI model integrations, and customer-facing applications. Your work directly influences customer outcomes, accelerates adoption of the Databricks platform, and contributes reusable accelerators and best practices. You’ll operate at the intersection of technology and business impact, embedding with customer teams to deliver measurable value.

• Lead architecture and design decisions for customer engagements
• Deliver production-grade data and AI solutions (pipelines, models, applications)
• Guide transformational big data projects end-to-end (design, build, deploy)
• Empower customers through architecture guidance and adoption of Databricks
• Collaborate with engineering, project managers, and customer teams to meet needs
• Provide product and implementation feedback to facilitate rapid issue resolution
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact
• Develop reusable accelerators, frameworks, and best practices to scale impact across accounts

• Experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software/full-stack development
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and expertise in at least one
• Deep experience with Apache Spark and Spark runtime internals
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments
• Knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs
• Experience delivering end-to-end, production data architectures and applications
• Experience with enterprise clients and managing stakeholder expectations
• Strong documentation and white-boarding skills
• Willingness to travel to customers (approx. 20%)
• Databricks Certification - an advantage
