The successful candidate will translate commercial and creative priorities into fast, accessible and engaging storefront experiences; lead theme architecture and front-end engineering standards; and use data, experimentation and sound technical judgement to improve conversion and customer experience.
Our e-commerce operation is centred on a multi-store Shopify Plus environment serving multiple international markets. The storefronts integrate with marketing, analytics, review, customer service, logistics and mobile-app platforms, with additional capabilities delivered through a combination of in-house solutions and carefully selected third‑party apps.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of IT, the successful candidate will take technical ownership of front-end delivery across the Shopify Plus ecosystem. They will work closely with e-commerce, creative, marketing and technical colleagues to turn business goals and customer insight into robust, measurable improvements, while setting standards for front-end architecture, code quality, testing and release discipline.

- Establish and maintain front-end engineering standards, component libraries, testing practices and technical documentation.
- Assess and implement new technologies, integrations and third‑party applications that enhance customer experience and business performance.
- Take ownership of projects from discovery and technical design through implementation, release and post‑launch monitoring, working independently with minimal supervision.
- Proactively identify technical debt, risks and opportunities for innovation, continuously improving both the storefront and development workflows

- Strong knowledge of Git, code review processes, testing practices and modern deployment workflows.
- Commercial awareness, using analytics, experimentation and performance data to influence technical decisions and drive customer outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across both technical and non‑technical stakeholders and provide technical leadership.
- A proactive, self‑directed approach with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems independently and continuously improve platforms, processes and ways of working
