Senior Front End Developer

MCS Group is working with a growing technology business to recruit a Senior Front End Engineer to join its product engineering team. This is a hands‑on role for an experienced React engineer who enjoys working on modern product experiences and solving front‑end problems that go beyond traditional, fixed user interfaces.

The business is developing new AI-powered capabilities where elements of the user experience can be generated dynamically based on data, configuration and model outputs. You'll help build the front‑end architecture that allows these experiences to work reliably, safely and at scale.

This is an opportunity to work on front‑end engineering problems that are still relatively new across the industry. Rather than simply adding features to an established interface, you'll help shape how users interact with AI-powered software, including how dynamic content and components are generated, rendered and controlled within a production React application.

As their Senior Front‑End Engineer you'll have plenty of ownership, work alongside an experienced engineering team and have a genuine opportunity to influence how the front‑end architecture develops as the product grows.

The Role

The Front‑End Engineer will work closely with Product, Design, Backend and AI teams to build and evolve modern web applications using React and TypeScript.

Your work will include:

• Building complex front‑end applications using React and TypeScript
• Developing interfaces that can adapt or render dynamically based on data, configuration or AI- generated outputs
• Building conversational and chat‑style product experiences
• Integrating AI-powered functionality into real customer‑facing products
• Designing reusable components and scalable front‑end architecture
• Managing complex application state, data flows and asynchronous interactions
• Optimising front‑end performance and application responsiveness
• Building accessibility into products from the outset
• Working closely with Product and UX teams to turn new ideas into production‑ready features
• Collaborating effectively with engineers working across different locations and time zones
• Contributing to technical decisions, code reviews and engineering standards

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript
• Deep knowledge of React including hooks, component architecture, state management and performance optimisation
• Experience building modern, complex web applications rather than predominantly static interfaces
• Exposure to dynamically generated or data‑driven user interfaces
• Experience building AI‑powered product features, not simply using AI coding tools
• Experience building chat, messaging or conversational interfaces
• A good understanding of web accessibility and how to incorporate it throughout development
• Experience working within distributed engineering teams
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with Product, Design and Backend Engineering
• Experience working with generative AI, LLM‑powered applications or interfaces where UI components are produced dynamically would be particularly valuable.

Salary

Up to £85,000 with share options
