Senior Full Stack Engineer

Altech Group Ltd

Remote · Nationwide · United Kingdom

Salary: Up to £80,000

Location: UK Remote-First

Employment: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

We're working with an ambitious, private equity-backed financial services group that is making a significant investment in technology, AI and digital transformation.

The business is building a sophisticated, AI-powered platform designed to transform how mortgage and financial advice is delivered across the UK.

They're now looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join a small, highly skilled engineering team and take real ownership of a platform that will support over 1,000 financial advisers.

This isn't a role where you'll be working through endless tickets or maintaining legacy systems. You'll be building meaningful products, influencing technical decisions and shipping features that have a direct impact on users.

You'll work closely with a Principal Engineer, taking ownership across the entire stack in an environment where modern AI development tools are already part of everyday engineering.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building end-to-end features across a modern Django and React application, from database design and backend APIs through to user-facing functionality.
  • Owning key product areas , taking responsibility for their development, performance, reliability and ongoing improvement.
  • Developing AI-powered functionality , working alongside specialist engineers to integrate intelligent capabilities into real-world user workflows.
  • Collaborating with senior engineers on architectural decisions, code reviews and technical improvements.
  • Maintaining high engineering standards through automated testing, thoughtful code reviews and clear technical documentation.
  • Scaling a growing platform , ensuring performance and reliability as adoption increases across the business.
  • Using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex or similar to accelerate development without compromising code quality.

The Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React 19, TypeScript
  • AI Development: Claude Code, Codex and AI-assisted engineering workflows

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a genuinely strong full-stack engineer who enjoys taking ownership, solving complex problems and building high-quality software.

You'll ideally bring:

  • 5+ years' commercial experience with Python and Django , building production applications.
  • 5+ years' experience with React , alongside strong TypeScript skills.
  • Proven experience designing REST APIs, working with relational databases and building scalable backend services.
  • Confidence working across the full stack, from data modelling through to frontend implementation.
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding tools as part of your development workflow.
  • A strong approach to testing, code reviews, documentation and maintainability.
  • The ability to work independently, communicate clearly and contribute effectively within a small senior engineering team.

Experience within financial services, regulated environments, Celery, AWS, Kubernetes or LLM-powered product development would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

You must already have the right to work in the UK.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Up to £80,000 salary.
  • Remote-first working within the UK.
  • Genuine technical ownership with the freedom to influence how products are built.
  • Modern technology stack with no requirement to maintain outdated legacy applications.
  • AI-first engineering culture where modern development tools are actively encouraged.
  • High-impact work , building a platform used by a growing network of financial advisers.
  • Small, experienced engineering team with direct access to senior technical decision-makers.
  • Long-term investment and growth , backed by an established private equity investor.
