Overview

In this role you will contribute to a multi-year transformation program aimed at modernizing Prime Finance Equities platforms. You will build and enhance institutional-grade trading and post-trade systems using cloud-native, event-driven architectures while delivering real-time, client-facing features. You’ll work in a production-focused environment, applying capital markets knowledge to solve complex problems and shaping technical architecture. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software and mentor peers, driving engineering best practices. This is an opportunity to impact execution at scale within a regulated, fast-moving market domain.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and support full-stack solutions across frontend and backend components
  • Build and enhance event-driven trading and post-trade applications
  • Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions
  • Develop responsive and real-time user interfaces for equities platforms
  • Implement and maintain APIs, messaging integrations, and backend services
  • Ensure high code quality through Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Participate in CI/CD practices, trunk-based development, and frequent production releases
  • Troubleshoot production issues and maintain data integrity in complex market environments
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering peers
  • Apply capital markets domain expertise to business and technical problem-solving
  • Mentor team members and contribute to engineering best practices
Key requirements
  • 7+ years of Java development experience
  • 2+ years of commercial Kotlin development experience
  • 2+ years of frontend development experience with React and/or Angular
  • Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS skills
  • Proven experience designing and developing event-driven distributed systems
  • Hands-on experience with messaging patterns, event processing, resiliency, and failure handling
  • Strong Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices and end-to-end ownership of software quality
  • Experience working in Agile environments with CI/CD, trunk-based development, and frequent production releases
  • Hands-on experience in capital markets, including trade lifecycle and position management
  • Experience building real-time applications using WebSockets or streaming technologies
  • Ability to contribute to architectural discussions and operate independently in complex production environments
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams
