Senior Full Stack Engineer (React / NestJS / Azure)

Our client is seeking a contract based Senior Full Stack Engineer focused on building APIs and modern web applications using React, NestJS, and Azure cloud services.

Duration: 6 months to start

Location: Hybrid Markham (4d)

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs and microservices using NestJS and TypeScript.
• Build and enhance modern web applications using React.
• Develop event-driven architectures and distributed systems using best practices.
• Deploy and manage applications using Docker, Azure Container Apps, and Azure API Management (APIM).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps to enable efficient and reliable deployments.
• Use Infrastructure as Code (Bicep) to provision and manage Azure resources.
• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases to support scalable application performance.
• Implement feature flags and incremental deployment strategies to safely release new features.
• Ensure systems are observable and production-ready using monitoring, logging, and telemetry tools in Azure.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while following secure development practices.

Requirements:

• 8–10+ years of experience developing scalable full stack applications.
• Strong experience with React and TypeScript for frontend development.
• Backend development experience with NestJS and Node.js.
• Experience designing microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience deploying applications using Docker, Azure Container Apps, and Azure API Management (APIM).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep or similar tools).
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Experience implementing testing strategies, code quality practices, and application observability.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and modern application security principles.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced agile environments with evolving requirements.
• Ability to take ownership and deliver production-ready solutions quickly and iteratively.
