We are seeking a Senior Full Stack / React Native Developer to support a major application development initiative for our aviation client

The ideal candidate will bring strong frontend expertise in React Native and Expo , combined with hands-on backend, cloud/serverless, and DevOps experience. This is a highly autonomous development role requiring someone who can take ownership of an assigned feature or task and drive it through the entire development and deployment lifecycle with minimal supervision .

The successful candidate will also have experience with AI-enabled software development , particularly using tools such as Cursor or Claude Code to accelerate and enhance development.

Location : Downtown Toronto

Duration: 1-year contract, starting in October

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality mobile applications for iOS and Android using React Native and Expo.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of assigned features, from requirements and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Develop scalable frontend solutions using React Native, Expo, React, and TypeScript .
  • Build and integrate backend services using Node.js, GraphQL, and cloud/serverless technologies .
  • Develop and consume GraphQL APIs using Apollo Client and GraphQL Codegen .
  • Manage application state using Jotai, Apollo Client caching, and cache persistence .
  • Work within established enterprise design systems to deliver consistent, responsive, and accessible user experiences.
  • Support bilingual application functionality using i18next for English and French .
  • Leverage Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and Remote Config for application monitoring and optimization.
  • Design, build, and maintain DevOps and CI/CD pipelines .
  • Support multiple application environments from local development through production.
  • Develop automated tests and maintain code quality using Jest, ESLint, and Husky .
  • Use AI-enabled development tools such as Cursor and/or Claude Code as part of the software development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot complex application issues across frontend, backend, API, cloud, and deployment layers.
  • Collaborate effectively with developers, designers, architects, product teams, and other technical stakeholders.

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong hands-on React Native development experience, ideally with Expo and Expo Router .
  • Advanced React and TypeScript development experience.
  • Strong experience developing mobile applications for both iOS and Android .
  • Strong experience with GraphQL and Apollo Client .
  • Experience with AWS and serverless/cloud-native application development .
  • Hands-on experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines .
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools , preferably Cursor and/or Claude Code .
  • Experience with application state management and caching solutions.
  • Strong understanding of the complete software development and deployment lifecycle.

They should be comfortable owning a feature independently, making sound technical decisions, collaborating with the broader team when required, and taking their work all the way through development, testing, deployment, and production.

Strong React Native/Expo expertise, full-stack capability, AWS/serverless experience, DevOps knowledge, and modern AI-enabled development experience will be critical to success in this role.
