Overview

In this role you will shape and deliver the cloud-first, hybrid infrastructure at a growing technology-focused company. You will own senior technical ownership across Azure, on-prem environments, networking and security, driving complex incidents and transformation initiatives. You’ll work hands-on while steering infrastructure changes within ITIL practices and partnering with security, vendors and leadership. This is an opportunity to influence how the infrastructure team operates and accelerates the journey to a scalable, secure cloud-native estate.

Responsibilities
  • Provide senior 3rd line support across Azure, hybrid infrastructure, networking and firewalls
  • Design, implement and support network and cloud infrastructure ensuring security, resilience and scalability
  • Lead and deliver infrastructure transformation and change projects toward a cloud-first model
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and networking issues to resolution
  • Manage infrastructure changes within ITIL/service management framework
  • Reduce legacy/on-prem dependencies in line with the technology roadmap
  • Improve automation and scripting to enable repeatable, auditable deployments
  • Collaborate with technology leadership, security, service desk and external vendors
  • Provide escalation and knowledge transfer to Service Desk; maintain runbooks and processes
Key requirements
  • Senior Infrastructure Engineer experience, ideally in an SME environment
  • Advanced hands-on networking skills (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, network security)
  • Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructure experience
  • Experience delivering infrastructure change, transformation or migration projects
  • Comfort working across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Understanding of ITIL/structured change management
  • Collaborative with stakeholders and vendors
  • PowerShell scripting or automation experience beneficial
