Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Azure

You will lead and deliver infrastructure projects for NHS SBS, specialising in Microsoft Azure, identity management, and core infrastructure. As a technical SME, you provide guidance and support across projects while ensuring smooth handover to operations. You’ll handle third-line incidents and owner technical changes, collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to achieve business outcomes. The role sits in a growing team and offers flexible UK-based working with travel to Leeds/Southampton when needed. This is a chance to shape NHS IT infrastructure in a measurable way.

• Lead and deliver infrastructure projects across Azure, identity management, and core infrastructure technologies
• Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and implementation support
• Support third-line incidents and contribute to major incident resolution
• Take ownership of technical changes, with planning, delivery, documentation and knowledge transfer
• Manage and support Windows Server, Entra ID and Active Directory environments
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver successful business outcomes

• Strong experience administering and supporting Microsoft Azure environments
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory
• Solid experience managing Windows Server infrastructure
• Experience leading technical implementations and project delivery
• Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and diagrams
• Confidence in managing competing priorities and working with diverse stakeholders
