Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Wintel

Inthis role you will support and improve the security-cleared infrastructure for a defence programme. Based on-site in Hemel Hempstead, you will provide second-line support, implement and test infrastructure components, and maintain operability of server, network, storage, and desktop environments. You will collaborate with an established team to assess tasks, document outputs, and ensure project viability while handling complex issues in a mission-critical domain.

• Evaluate hardware and software for server, network, storage, or desktop environments
• Test deliverables and document results
• Integrate and test new hardware/software for programme infrastructure
• Administer and enhance the environment and its supportability
• Provide second-line support
• Carry out project tasks to ensure viability and adhere to processes
• Estimate task durations to follow project procedures

• Experience operating service support functions within an enterprise environment
• Infrastructure administration, fault finding/diagnosis and fix
• Knowledge of File/Print Clusters, enterprise thin client environments and messaging systems (advantage)
• Strong documentation skills for end-users and operational procedures
• Extensive experience in infrastructure management
• Security clearance DV (required)
• Active DV clearance and sole British nationality (preference for candidates)
• Customer service skills and experience resolving complex issues (advantage)
• ITIL service management knowledge (advantage)
• MCP accreditation or equivalent (advantage)
• Accreditation to MCP level or equivalent
