Senior Infrastructure Specialist zMQ

In this role you will lead and shape MQ on z/OS within a transforming infrastructure team, driving automation, resilience and service excellence. You will work with stakeholders to steer the MQ platform roadmap and integrate MQ with modern technologies. You’ll resolve complex incidents and contribute to out-of-hours delivery when needed. • Provide technical leadership for complex MQ environments operating to demanding service levels
• Shape the strategic roadmap for z/OS MQ and influence platform engineering capabilities
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver against the technology roadmap and ensure strong customer outcomes
• Support adoption of modern engineering practices, including automation and DevOps
• Work with middleware, infrastructure and engineering teams to integrate mainframe tech with new platforms
• Promote standardisation and operational excellence while ensuring controls and processes are followed
• Provide expertise for incident and problem resolution in complex environments, including out-of-hours participation

• Extensive knowledge of MQ infrastructure on z/OS
• Strong experience with MQ performance tuning, diagnosis and problem resolution
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting business-critical online systems
• Experience working with TLS
• Interest in driving innovation, automation and evolution of mainframe technologies
• Experience or keen interest in DevOps practices, automation and modern engineering approaches
• Interest in AI and emerging technologies to improve engineering effectiveness and customer outcomes
