Overview

In this role you will develop instrument-control software for MS systems and work across Mass Spectrometry, Chromatography and Informatics to enable advanced workflows. You will design, test and document high-quality code while collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges. You will act as a technical expert, promote best practices, and mentor others, contributing to architectural decisions and the quality management system. This is part of a multi-year initiative shaping the future of Waters’ MS and workflow solutions with a strong emphasis on innovation and impact.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance instrument-control software for MS systems
  • Design, test, review, and document high-quality code
  • Collaborate across teams to solve technical challenges
  • Promote and model engineering best practices globally
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to architectural decisions
  • Support and improve the Quality Management System
Key requirements
  • Proven industry experience in hardware control software and embedded/real-time systems
  • Strong development experience with C++/C#, Angular, TypeScript and Linux
  • Background in embedded or acquisition-system software
  • Solid engineering practices including Unit Testing, TDD, CI/CD, SOLID, BDD
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
