Senior Integration Specialist

Overview

In this role you design, develop and maintain data interfaces using the Intersystems Health Connect integration engine to support patient care. You will collaborate with Operations, IT and Trust counterparts to resolve data integrity issues and deliver integration solutions. You’ll advise on strategic technical developments and work with system admins to support the IM&T strategy. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role at a critical NHS system level with a focus on data quality and availability. You will be a primary technical lead for data migration and interfacing across Trust projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and ensure TIE is compliant with IM&T policies and national standards
  • Document policies, schedule regular reviews, and monitor security incidents
  • Investigate data quality incidents and implement timely corrective actions
  • Maintain high system availability and record interruptions
  • Provide SME support for data migration and interfacing, including data mapping, transformation and testing
  • Develop and maintain IT system software, web services and websites as needed
  • Stay current on industry standards and technologies related to integration engines
  • Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to deliver data integration across the Trust
Key requirements
  • Substantial senior experience in design and development of highly complex applications
  • Advanced SQL Server development and MS SQL skills
  • Expertise in healthcare data standards (HL7 v2/v3/FHIR) and related web technologies (web services, XML/JSON, REST)
  • Experience with Intersystems HealthConnect and integration engine solutions
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate into technical proposals
  • Experience within NHS acute care environments or equivalent
  • Knowledge of data validation and data quality improvements
  • Desirable: Cloud deployment (AWS), GitLab, project management of large integration engine projects
  • Excellent communication and facilitation
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to liaise with suppliers and cross-functional teams
