Senior iOS Engineer

In this high-impact, hands-on role you own the development and quality of the SumUp Pay iOS app. You work closely with Backend Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and Android Engineers to ship polished, reliable mobile experiences for consumers. You will tackle features across KYC, card management, savings, open banking, and payments, driving performance, reliability, and scalable architecture. This is a unique chance to shape a growing fintech product used by merchants and consumers at scale.

• Build and ship features for consumer banking areas (KYC, card management, savings, open banking consent, payments)
• Write clean, testable Swift code and participate in code reviews
• Evolve iOS app architecture including modularisation and dependency management
• Own app performance and reliability, monitor crashes, and drive stability
• Maintain quality through unit/UI tests and CI/CD health
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Backend, Product, and Design teams

• Strong proficiency in Swift and deep knowledge of iOS framework (Objective-C a plus)
• Solid understanding of RESTful API integration and collaboration with backend on API design
• Experience with agile methodologies, CI/CD, and pair programming
• Focus on user interaction, usability, and high-quality interfaces
• Ability to design solutions for large problems and ship deliverables independently
• Passion for clean, maintainable, testable code and professional craft
• Mature, business-minded approach in fast-paced environments
• Experience in payments/fintech is a plus
