Senior IT Engineer

In this role you will serve as a senior IT specialist within the IT Operations team, owning complex Microsoft-based issues and driving improvements. You will manage a broad Microsoft technology estate, delivering automation and system integrations to boost efficiency. You’ll act as an escalation point across 1st–3rd line support and collaborate with stakeholders to support business initiatives on the HS2 project. This position offers autonomy, variety and the chance to shape IT delivery in a large-scale infrastructure program.

• Provide senior-level expert support across the Microsoft technology estate
• Own and resolve complex incidents from 1st to 3rd line
• Design and support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and related tech
• Deliver automation and integrations using APIs, scripting and modern tooling
• Support major incidents, changes and governance activities
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers on tech initiatives
• Contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement
• Support Azure DevOps sprint delivery with planning and execution

• 3rd line support experience in a complex enterprise
• Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
• Entra ID identity management including MFA and Conditional Access
• Intune/Endpoint Manager and modern endpoint technologies
• PowerShell scripting and automation capabilities
• Networking and infrastructure knowledge (AD, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
• APIs, automation platforms and Microsoft identity services integration
• ITIL-based service management experience
• Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder management
