Senior IT Infrastructure Architect

Lead corporate IT infrastructure and Microsoft SQL Server administration onsite in Sault Ste. Marie, supporting reliable systems at Algoma Steel.

This Systems Architect role requires extensive infrastructure leadership across operating systems, servers, SAN, VMware, and databases. You will guide infrastructure governance, coordinate long-term projects, and sustain system reliability for Algoma Steel’s corporate IT environment. The position also supports data science, machine learning, analytics, and enterprise data governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead corporate IT infrastructure use and governance
• Develop infrastructure policies, practices, and procedures
• Administer and optimize Microsoft SQL Server platforms
• Maintain infrastructure assets, configurations, and interconnectivity drawings
• Design data science and machine learning models

Requirements:

• Minimum three-year college diploma in a related field
• At least fifteen years of corporate IT infrastructure experience
• Microsoft SQL Server database administration experience
• VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter administration experience
• Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
