Senior Java Cloud Architect Developer

Lead Java architecture and development at Citi, shaping secure cloud-native systems with Spring Boot, microservices, and event-driven platforms. This full-time role requires 5+ years of experience.

As a Senior Java Back-End Developer, you will own technical design and delivery for mission-critical enterprise systems. You will build scalable distributed services, guide architecture decisions, and partner with product, security, platform, and SRE teams. The work spans Java, Spring Cloud, Kubernetes, Kafka, and infrastructure-as-code.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define cloud-native microservices and event-driven system architecture
• Create designs, API contracts, integration patterns, and implementations
• Lead squads through discovery, delivery, production, and SRE handoff
• Build Java services with Spring Boot, REST, GraphQL, and streaming
• Mentor engineers and lead architecture and design reviews

Requirements:

• 5+ years building enterprise systems and Java applications
• Experience with Java 11/17+, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud
• Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka or Pulsar, and cloud platforms
• Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, Redis, CI/CD, and Terraform or ARM
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and architectural leadership
