Overview

Join Citi’s Fixed Income Algo team in EMEA to build and evolve the high-performance, low-latency algo trading platform used by internal market-making and trading desks. You will collaborate with traders, quants and product managers to translate business needs into scalable components that handle real-time data and execution. This role blends cutting-edge engineering with market impact, offering mentorship and a path to advanced technical proficiency across a global, fast-paced environment. You’ll contribute to a strategic growth agenda while shaping the technology that underpins global finance.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop reusable algo trading platform components with emphasis on performance and latency
  • Collaborate with Traders, Quants and Product Managers to implement business requirements
  • Ensure reliability, scalability and performance of core algorithmic components
  • Maintain and enhance live trading systems in coordination with eTrading and Production Support
  • Adhere to engineering standards and deliver best-in-class solutions
Key requirements
  • Significant hands-on coding experience in core Java with low-latency, high-throughput distributed apps
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, design patterns, OOP, and algorithms complexity
  • Experience with messaging technologies (Solace, Kafka)
  • Practical experience with Chronicle and/or Aeron
  • Distributed caching techniques
  • Proven track record in market data and trading applications
  • Experience building back-testing frameworks and managing historical data
  • Basic Linux performance tuning and troubleshooting in the Java/Linux stack
  • Familiarity with Gradle, Git, TeamCity, Jenkins, Artifactory
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Self-motivated with goal-oriented mindset
