Senior Java Engineer

As a Senior Java Engineer in our payments technology practice, you will help modernise large-scale banking platforms through cloud-native Java solutions. You’ll work on complex payment processing systems for major financial institutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, scalable platforms. The role focuses on transforming payments infrastructure using AWS, microservices, and modern engineering practices. You’ll be at the forefront of progressing real-time payment capabilities within a dynamic consultancy environment.

• Develop and enhance enterprise-grade payment processing solutions
• Build cloud-native apps using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices
• Deliver within AWS environments to ensure resilience and scalability
• Implement modern payment solutions and integrations
• Develop event-driven services with Kafka
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and stakeholders across the delivery lifecycle
• Engage with banking clients on transformation initiatives

• Strong commercial Java development experience
• Expertise in Spring Boot and microservices architectures
• Experience in AWS cloud environments
• Knowledge of Apache Kafka and asynchronous messaging
• Strong understanding of ISO 20022 payments standards
• Hands-on experience with the ICON IPF framework
• Experience with major banking or financial services organisations
