Senior Java Engineer

As a Senior Java Engineer, you will contribute to a specialist payments engineering team delivering large-scale transformation programmes for major financial institutions. You will build cloud-native, scalable payment platforms and modernise critical systems using Java, Spring Boot and microservices in AWS. The role involves collaborating with architects and stakeholders through the delivery lifecycle to implement modern payment solutions. • Develop and enhance enterprise-scale payment processing solutions
• Build cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot and microservices
• Operate within AWS environments to deliver resilient platforms
• Support implementation of modern payment solutions and integrations
• Develop event-driven services using Kafka
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Work closely with banking clients on transformation initiatives

• Strong commercial Java development experience
• Expertise in Spring Boot and microservices architectures
• Experience in AWS cloud environments
• Knowledge of Apache Kafka and asynchronous messaging
• Strong understanding of ISO 20022 payments standards
• Hands-on experience with the ICON IPF framework
• Experience with major banking or financial services organisations
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
