Senior Java Engineering Team Lead

Lead Java engineering across client-facing systems at BlueMatrix, using ReactJS, PostgreSQL, Docker, and AWS with a collaborative team.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead, mentor, and support engineers while contributing hands-on to development. You will guide architecture, code reviews, technical decisions, and delivery across a retreating monolith and growing microservices. The role supports BlueMatrix applications for investment research publishing, distribution, analysis, and communications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of engineers
• Write maintainable code and unblock engineering challenges
• Guide architecture, reviews, and technical decision-making
• Plan sprints, prioritize backlogs, and manage delivery timelines
• Champion coding, testing, CI/CD, and monitoring practices

Requirements:

• Five-plus years of software engineering experience
• One-to-two-plus years in leadership or team lead capacity
• Proficiency in Java and modern development practices
• Experience with AWS Lambda, ECS, SQS, Kinesis, and Terraform
• Experience delivering scalable systems and reliable REST APIs
