Overview

In this Senior Java Software Engineer role you will design, implement, test and deliver robust software across the full development lifecycle. You will join a permanent feature team and collaborate with principal engineers, architects and key stakeholders to align the platform with business objectives. You will apply Agile methods, drive resilient architecture, and prototype innovative ideas to meet future needs. You will emphasize automation of build, test and deployment while leveraging microservices, Kubernetes and cloud technologies to scale the platform. This hybrid role offers Manchester office presence and a chance to shape critical financial software.

Responsibilities
  • Develop software within a permanent feature team and across platform disciplines
  • Liaise with principal engineers, architects and stakeholders to align with business objectives
  • Apply Agile methods to software development on the backlog
  • Deliver resilient, scalable software and adapt to future needs
  • Design and implement architecture with emergent design through prototyping
  • Develop software focused on automation of build, test and deployment
  • Apply knowledge of microservices, Kubernetes and cloud technologies
  • Collaborate with business teams to produce pragmatic solutions
  • Consider information security practices within the financial sector
Key requirements
  • Strong full-stack software design and implementation experience
  • Ability to analyze complex requirements and validate with business and systems requirements
  • Experience leading programming best practices around scalability, automation, virtualization, optimization, availability and performance
  • Strong experience in Microservices, Observability and AWS
  • Hands-on experience in Spring, Spring Boot and Docker
  • Sound collaboration skills with business teams to produce pragmatic solutions
  • Experience of information security policies and practices within the financial sector
