Overview

In this role you design, build and optimize a high-throughput FX real-time risk system, driving architectural evolution for low-latency processing. You work closely with the FX Options Trading desk to translate business needs into scalable software and contribute to a modern risk platform. You mentor engineers, perform deep technical reviews, and own critical delivery milestones. This position offers impact on front-office risk capabilities within a mission-critical, production-grade environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and optimize critical FX real-time risk infrastructure with high availability and low latency
  • Drive technical deliverables, promote code quality and modern development practices
  • Provide architectural input and contribute to strategic direction of the risk platform modernization
  • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through design reviews and guidance
  • Serve as SME to FX Options trading desk, translating requirements into software designs
  • Partner with front-office stakeholders for fast troubleshooting of real-time system behavior
  • Assess risk of technical decisions to ensure security, scalability, and stability
  • Contribute hands-on as a primary engineer using the tech stack
  • Handle heavy stream processing and highly concurrent data flows
Key requirements
  • Extensive enterprise Java development in highly parallel, low-latency or distributed environments
  • Strong FX trading, options pricing, or real-time risk systems knowledge (preferred/obligatory)
  • Proven IC delivering complex, high-throughput distributed systems in production
  • Deep Core Java expertise: multi-threading, memory management, GC tuning, concurrency utilities
  • Experience with real-time stream processing and distributed architectures (Kafka, Apache Storm, CouchbaseDB/NoSQL, Spring)
  • Familiarity with containerization and cloud (OpenShift/Kubernetes, GCP/AWS)
  • Understanding of AI/ML or advanced quantitative analytics in financial systems (plus)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical partners
