Overview
Join the Equity Accelerator to modernize Prime Finance Equities platforms. You will build scalable backend services in Kotlin and Java within event-driven, cloud-native architectures, directly supporting production systems. You’ll contribute to platform transformation and market expansion while mentoring peers and shaping technical direction. This role combines hands-on engineering with architecture and domain expertise to drive meaningful impact in capital markets.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain backend services for trading and post-trade platforms
- Build scalable event-driven applications and messaging-based integrations
- Develop services using Kotlin and Java within JVM ecosystems
- Contribute to architecture design and technology decisions
- Ensure software quality through Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Implement reliable data processing, event replay, and failure recovery mechanisms
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines and frequent production deployments
- Analyze and resolve complex production and performance issues
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders across the equities domain
- Drive technical excellence and mentor other engineers
- Apply deep understanding of capital markets workflows to solution design
- 7+ years of Java development experience
- 2+ years of commercial Kotlin development experience
- Proven experience building event-driven distributed systems
- Deep understanding of messaging concepts, including ordering, resiliency, replay, and failure handling
- Strong TDD practices with end-to-end ownership of quality
- Solid experience in Agile delivery, CI/CD, and trunk-based development
- Hands-on capital markets experience, particularly trade lifecycle and post-trade processing
- Understanding of trade booking, position management, settlement, accounting, and cashflows
- Strong system design and architectural decision-making skills
- Ability to operate autonomously in complex, business-critical environments
