Overview

Join the Equity Accelerator to modernize Prime Finance Equities platforms. You will build scalable backend services in Kotlin and Java within event-driven, cloud-native architectures, directly supporting production systems. You’ll contribute to platform transformation and market expansion while mentoring peers and shaping technical direction. This role combines hands-on engineering with architecture and domain expertise to drive meaningful impact in capital markets.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services for trading and post-trade platforms
  • Build scalable event-driven applications and messaging-based integrations
  • Develop services using Kotlin and Java within JVM ecosystems
  • Contribute to architecture design and technology decisions
  • Ensure software quality through Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Implement reliable data processing, event replay, and failure recovery mechanisms
  • Participate in CI/CD pipelines and frequent production deployments
  • Analyze and resolve complex production and performance issues
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders across the equities domain
  • Drive technical excellence and mentor other engineers
  • Apply deep understanding of capital markets workflows to solution design
Key requirements
  • 7+ years of Java development experience
  • 2+ years of commercial Kotlin development experience
  • Proven experience building event-driven distributed systems
  • Deep understanding of messaging concepts, including ordering, resiliency, replay, and failure handling
  • Strong TDD practices with end-to-end ownership of quality
  • Solid experience in Agile delivery, CI/CD, and trunk-based development
  • Hands-on capital markets experience, particularly trade lifecycle and post-trade processing
  • Understanding of trade booking, position management, settlement, accounting, and cashflows
  • Strong system design and architectural decision-making skills
  • Ability to operate autonomously in complex, business-critical environments
