Overview

As Lead Engineer in Market Data Services, you design, deliver, and maintain critical data distribution systems spanning on-premises and cloud environments to serve multiple lines of business. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile setting to ensure fast, reliable data delivery for realtime, historical, and AI/ML use-cases. You drive engineering excellence with a focus on resiliency, security, and regulatory alignment, shaping how third-party data powers client solutions. This role offers impact at scale within a world-class financial services firm and opportunities to lead AI-assisted delivery practices.

Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain real-time and historical data delivery systems
  • Collaborate with product owners to align data solutions with business and regulatory needs
  • Balance best-of-breed with cost-effective solutions and drive reuse of AI-assisted practices
  • Provide 3rd-level operational support and ensure issue mitigation
  • Lead adoption of AI-assisted workflows with validated, auditable outputs
  • Present findings and solutions to senior management
  • Champion process and control disciplines
  • Ensure data security, resiliency, and auditability in all changes
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification in infrastructure engineering concepts
  • Advanced experience with cloud technologies including Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS
  • Data Lake technologies (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Glue/Athena, Lake Formation)
  • Experience using enterprise AI capabilities to support infrastructure workflows with strong validation
  • Ability to review AI-assisted recommendations before implementation
  • Network architecture and protocols
  • Programming languages (Java, Python, C++)
  • Market Data / messaging products and vendors (e.g. TREP, Vela, Bloomberg BPIPE, Solace, AMPS)
  • Database technologies and SQL scripting
  • Monitoring tools (ITRS Geneos, Dynatrace, Datadog)
  • Cross-functional collaboration
