Overview

In this Platform Engineer role within the Networking Team of JPMorgan Chase’s Accelerator, you help turn smart ideas into customer-facing outcomes. You will shape platform-wide networking strategies, improve resiliency, and enhance observability while collaborating across squads. You’ll lead production troubleshooting, contribute to secure production code, and drive architecture discussions with external and internal partners. This role blends hands-on cloud-native work with leadership in communities of practice, offering a meaningful impact on critical fintech systems.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate across the organization to implement platform-wide networking strategies
  • Optimize infrastructure for failover and resiliency
  • Enhance operator design and custom implementations for cloud-native operators
  • Improve observability of networking components to meet SLOs
  • Lead troubleshooting of production workloads for customers and incidents
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform reviews
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on architectures and credentials
  • Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering for new technologies
  • Lead agile ceremonies and contribute to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Key requirements
  • Detailed understanding of public clouds and building cloud-based environments
  • Expert knowledge of containerisation, Kubernetes and related tooling
  • Deep understanding of cloud-native and traditional networking architectures
  • Proven experience designing and operating scalable, secure, resilient networks in GCP or AWS
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, routing, DNS, NAT, Firewalls, IPAM, Load Balancers, VPN
  • Extensive experience writing and maintaining custom Kubernetes Operators in Golang
  • Ability to write code for automated infrastructure environments
  • Comfort with fast-moving, ambiguous, critical environments
