Senior Lead Software Engineer

As a Senior Technical Lead in the Platform Engineering team, you will steer the technical direction across services and libraries, defining architecture contracts among UI, backend services, and cloud layers. You will drive performance improvements, set engineering standards, and coordinate changes across codebases. You’ll mentor engineers, lead high-impact reviews, and serve as the escalation point for complex production incidents, translating business needs into a pragmatic technical roadmap. This role offers influence over platform design, governance, and end-to-end execution at scale.

• Define and evolve cross-cutting architecture and contracts between UI, backend services, shared libraries, and cloud/compute layers
• Drive execution performance improvements (model start-up latency, warm/pooled compute, instance pools, serverless patterns)
• Govern AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes with measurable validation standards
• Set engineering standards for testing strategy, CI/CD, secure-by-default practices, observability, and versioning across libraries
• Coordinate contract-first workstreams and API/schema changes across teams
• Mentor engineers, lead high-signal code reviews, and act as escalation point for production incidents
• Translate user and business requirements into a pragmatic technical roadmap
• Design and review changes spanning multiple services and libraries for correctness, performance, maintainability
• Maintain a clear architecture/contract map to onboard new engineers
• Achieve improvements in execution start-up time for smaller models to boost system efficiency

• Significant experience building and operating production software as a technical lead on distributed systems
• Deep expertise in Python and FastAPI/REST, including async patterns and SQLAlchemy
• Experience leading enterprise AI-assisted software development tools and setting validation expectations for AI outputs
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency and security controls
• Strong AWS background with serverless orchestration (Step Functions/Lambda), container deployment (ECS/EKS), and managed data services
• Proven ability to design/evolve service-to-service contracts without breaking consumers
• Solid grasp of CI/CD, automated testing, and secure-by-default engineering (secrets, IAM, least privilege)
• Ability to lead across teams and communicate with engineers and business stakeholders
