Overview

In this role you will deliver cloud-native microservice solutions for a leading consumer bank, enabling scalable and reliable digital banking experiences. You will work within the International Consumer Bank as part of a diverse, distributed team focused on building trusted, customer-centric products. You’ll tackle end-to-end engineering challenges—from design and testing to secure coding and production operations—impacting onboarding, payments, and servicing experiences. Responsibilities
  • Deliver end-to-end cloud-native microservice solutions using modern technologies and best practices
  • Apply domain modeling to build robust business products
  • Structure software for ease of testing, maintenance, and evolution
  • Design scalable architectures to avoid single points of failure
  • Develop secure, hardened software to protect customers and systems
  • Investigate and remediate issues promptly to prevent recurrence
  • Coordinate releases with zero downtime and optimal data access patterns
  • Monitor performance and ensure reliable, operable systems
  • Keep technologies and patterns up to date and support products through lifecycle
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering with applied experience
  • Recent hands-on experience as a back-end software engineer
  • Proficiency in Java
  • Experience designing and implementing various tests (unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
  • Experience with cloud technologies and distributed systems, RESTful APIs and web technologies
  • Knowledge of messaging frameworks
  • Experience operating, supporting, and securing mission-critical software
  • Understanding of relational data stores
  • Ability to coach teammates on coding practices and design principles
