In this role you will lead a software engineering squad focused on the payments area of the Invest Tribe, delivering customer-focused features in a fintech context. You will shape technical direction, foster high-quality delivery, and partner with product and leadership to translate business goals into robust solutions. You’ll mentor engineers, drive continuous improvement, and ensure measurable impact through data-driven delivery. Responsibilities
  • Lead and line-manage an engineering squad, setting goals and developing delivery capability
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Contribute hands-on development for new features and solutions
  • Lead by example to uphold code quality, work ethic, and collaboration
  • Mentor engineers and foster continuous learning
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to align tech with business goals
  • Facilitate team meetings and retrospectives to address challenges
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads and Principal engineers on robust architectures
  • Operate with a data-driven mindset by tracking metrics across delivery, systems health, and customer journeys
  • Foster inclusive culture and implement engineering best practices
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification in team management concepts
  • Strong technical background and collaborative mindset
  • Business-driven mindset with ability to translate requirements into engineering solutions
  • Progressive mindset open to challenging the status quo
  • Extensive experience with a JVM language
  • Experience automating deployment, releases and testing in CI/CD pipelines
  • Proven track record designing and operating microservices using Cloud and event-driven architectures
  • Strong people management skills to build and grow a delivery team
