Senior Linux, AIX & Oracle Database Administrator

In this role you will own and optimise enterprise Oracle and infrastructure environments supporting mission-critical banking applications. You’ll work within a skilled IT infrastructure team to ensure high availability, resilience, and performance for core systems such as Oracle Flexcube and ERP. You will tackle complex database and OS challenges, automate operations, and contribute to disaster recovery and regulatory compliance. This is a technically challenging position in a stable financial services setting with hybrid working.

- Managing Red Hat Linux and IBM AIX server infrastructure for core applications
- Patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and capacity optimisation of databases and OS
- Supporting Oracle Flexcube and Oracle ERP for high availability and resilience
- Implementing and managing RMAN backups and Data Guard recovery strategies
- Troubleshooting infrastructure and database issues with cross-functional teams
- Automating operations via shell scripting and admin tooling
- Supporting disaster recovery planning, testing, and incident response
- Ensuring compliance with internal security standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining technical documentation, procedures, and runbooks
- Strong Oracle DBA experience in enterprise or banking contexts
- Expertise with Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, and performance tuning
- Hands-on Linux administration (RHEL or Oracle Linux)
- IBM AIX system administration experience
- Advanced SQL, Oracle PL/SQL and Unix shell scripting
- Experience supporting Oracle Flexcube environments
- Understanding of banking infrastructure and financial systems architecture
- Familiarity with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as OEM and Nagios
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management practices
