Senior Linux Kernel Software Engineer

Linux kernel expertise meets C programming at Arista Networks, where senior engineers develop EOS software for data center, campus, and routing products. You will maintain and evolve the Linux kernel in EOS while tracking upstream developments and integrating new versions. The role spans kernel features, debugging, scalable performance, automated testing, and customer problem resolution. You will own projects from definition through deployment and customer interactions. Key Responsibilities:

Track upstream Linux kernel developments and identify relevant features Develop EOS kernel features, tests, and testing infrastructure Qualify CPUs and NICs with hardware engineers and vendors Contribute kernel features to the mainline Linux community Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across projects Requirements:

Expert C programming experience; C++ and Python knowledge desirable Hands-on Linux kernel troubleshooting, bug fixing, and feature development Familiarity with kernel architecture and upstream patching procedures Understanding of IP networking principles and software engineering practices BS plus eight, MS plus six, or PhD plus three years Apply Linux kernel, C, networking, and systems expertise to advance Arista EOS quality and performance.
