Senior Machine Learning Engineer

In this role, you will advance Apple’s Online Store AI capabilities, shaping search, recommendations, personalization, and Generative AI to enhance the customer shopping experience. You’ll collaborate with researchers, engineers, data scientists, and product managers to deploy high-throughput ML models and testing workflows. This position sits at the crossroads of product and infrastructure, enabling scalable, data-driven decisions that delight millions of Apple customers daily. • Research and develop next-generation ML models for product search and ranking
• Build and optimize recommender systems and personalization features
• Experiment with Generative AI and RAG-based techniques for content and messaging
• Design and deploy large-scale data processing pipelines and ML systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (researchers, data scientists, engineers, PMs) to implement ML solutions and testing workflows
• Improve system performance and scalability across Apple-wide infrastructure

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience building high-throughput, scalable applications or ML models
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++ and distributed systems experience
• Experience with data processing pipelines and big data tech (Spark, SQL, Snowflake/Hadoop)
