Senior Mainframe Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer to join a team supporting and enhancing a core mainframe cards and transactions platform. This is a critical enterprise system that connects clients to their banking products and services and supports 24/7 delivery channels such as Online Banking, POS, ATM, and other transaction-based services.

This role involves both development and production support, with a focus on designing, building, testing, deploying, and evolving software solutions in a highly available banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, support, and enhance software solutions that support core banking services
• Lead and contribute to conversion, attestation, and audit initiatives
• Manage individual priorities, timelines, deliverables, and project commitments
• Analyze business and technical requirements to provide estimates and establish project plans
• Create, update, and maintain technical and project documentation
• Collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional IT partners
• Provide after-hours production support when required (rare)

Required Qualifications

• Completion of post-secondary education
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong hands-on expertise with:
• COBOL
• JCL
• IMS DB
• Online / Batch processing
• DB2
• MQSeries
• Git

Nice to Have

• Experience with:
• zUnit
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mainframe environments
