Senior Manager, Application Development and Integration

Royal Bank of Canada is hiring a Senior Manager to lead Treasury Management integration services and deliver client-focused integration solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and application specialist teams, including employees and contractors; provide direction, coaching, and development.
• Plan and oversee integration projects, tracking milestones and reporting progress through program closure.
• Set technical direction and contribute to application strategy, roadmaps, and technical currency.
• Allocate team resources, anticipate staffing needs, and manage third‑party vendor relationships.
• Establish engineering practices for DevOps, CI/CD, and quality; ensure regulatory requirements are met and risks are addressed.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams and support systematic application sunset planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of technical leadership or software development management experience and five years of recent financial services or fintech experience.
• Advanced experience with Big Data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka), .NET, React, JavaScript, REST APIs, microservices, and NoSQL/SQL databases.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD tools such as GitHub or Helios, and cloud technologies such as OpenShift, Azure, or AWS.
• Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and project management capabilities.

Contractor and vendor management, Agile-at-scale frameworks, AI/machine learning, and scalable engineering practices are considered assets.

Employment: Full‑time, regular; 37.5 hours per week
