Senior Manager, Audit and Assurance

Are you currently working in public practice and ready to fast-track your path to Partner? Our privately held client is looking for a manager with public practice experience to join their leadership team and take full ownership of their Ottawa office. As Senior Manager, you'll work closely with the firm's partners and fellow managers to cultivate new and existing client relationships, while guiding the team on accounting, tax, and assurance services. The ideal candidate brings solid knowledge of personal and corporate tax planning, superior communication skills, and technical expertise to identify and resolve a range of accounting issues. Main responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain a diverse client base of small to medium-sized businesses
• Manage workflow, compliance deadlines, and staff hiring and mentoring
• Manage and review compilation, review, and audit engagements
• Identify and resolve accounting, tax, and audit issues
• Lead the team through engagement or client challenges, supporting training and development
• Manage client relationships and service delivery to help grow the firm's practice

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:

• Minimum 5+ years of progressive public practice experience
• Sound knowledge of personal and corporate tax planning
• Good understanding of ASPE and ASNPO
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor a small team
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in CaseWare/Caseview and TaxPrep is an asset
