Overview

As Senior Manager of Product Data Science, you lead and scale a high-performing team embedded in Product domains, elevating analytical and technical standards across product areas. You guide data-driven decision-making, shaping strategies with cross-functional partners and ensuring robust experimentation and advanced modeling. You’ll drive scalable analytics, AI-enabled tooling, and impactful data products to support Viator’s growth. This role blends leadership with hands-on technical excellence to raise the bar across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of Product Analysts and/or Data Scientists with clear ownership of impact
  • Set and manage OKRs, prioritisation, and delivery aligned to strategic objectives
  • Raise analytical quality, experimentation rigour, and data science application across teams
  • Review and shape high-impact analytical work and advanced modelling approaches
  • Partner with senior leaders in Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Commercial to embed data science in decision-making
  • Translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytics problems with clear recommendations
  • Drive adoption of scalable frameworks, experimentation standards, and AI-enabled tooling
  • Champion best practices in experimentation, causal inference, segmentation, and customer understanding
  • Build and maintain partnerships with Data Platform and Data Engineering to leverage shared capabilities
  • Hire, coach, and develop the team while removing blockers to analytics delivery
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders to ensure prioritization and clear decision-making

Key requirements
  • Extensive experience in data science or a similar quantitative role with a track record of influencing a product organization
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Hands-on experience with statistical modeling, experimentation (quasi), multi-arm bandits, and ML techniques (regression, classification, clustering)
  • Ability to define and operationalize product and feature-level metrics from scratch
  • Proven ability to lead strategic discussions, drive product strategy, and communicate insights to cross-functional partners
  • Experience scaling analytics capabilities, including automated processes and self-service tools
  • Strong critical thinking and evidence-based judgment
  • Outstanding leadership with mentoring/coaching experience
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across levels
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or related quantitative field
