Overview

As a Data Engineer Manager in Accenture’s Data & AI practice, you will lead enterprise data initiatives and shape modern data platforms for global clients. You’ll guide architecture decisions, governance and AI-enabled solutions while mentoring teams and collaborating with senior stakeholders. This role combines hands-on architectural leadership with client-facing delivery across cloud data ecosystems. You will work on cutting-edge data and AI projects that scale transformation for large organisations.

Responsibilities
  • Define enterprise data strategies, target architectures and transformation roadmaps
  • Architect modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake and Power BI
  • Design scalable data lake, lakehouse, data warehouse and data integration solutions
  • Establish data governance, security, quality, metadata and lineage using Microsoft Purview
  • Provide architecture leadership for Data & AI, analytics and Generative AI initiatives
  • Lead architecture reviews, technology selection and technical assurance across major programmes
  • Engage with senior technology stakeholders to shape data strategy and solutions
  • Lead and mentor Data Architects, Data Engineers and technical teams
  • Support solution shaping, proposals, estimates and business development activities
  • Build strong relationships with clients and Microsoft technology partners
  • Help shape strategy and roadmaps for improving client AI and Data architectures
  • Provide ongoing architectural support for delivery teams to ensure scalable, principled solutions
  • Contribute to architectural thought leadership and innovation discussions across forums
  • Lead and mentor junior architects, guiding patterns, standards and best practices
  • Drive innovation in data and AI architecture through prototyping and PoCs
  • Establish and maintain relationships with client stakeholders as a trusted advisor
Key requirements
  • Data Architecture or Data Engineering or Technology Architecture experience
  • Strong enterprise experience with Microsoft Azure Data and Analytics
  • Hands-on architectural experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Databricks/Synapse
  • Knowledge of data modelling, data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses and data integration
  • Experience with data governance, security, privacy and Microsoft Purview
  • Understanding of AI/ML and Generative AI data architectures
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and large-scale transformation programmes
  • Strong client-facing, communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Experience in consulting, systems integration or large enterprise environments
  • Commercial Azure cloud platform experience, with relevant certifications
  • Expertise across data modelling, pipelining, governance, and data consumption
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience leading technically across project streams to deliver data and AI solutions
  • Experience coordinating across streams to deliver high-quality data solutions
