Senior Modern Workplace Engineer

In this Senior Modern Workplace Engineer role, you will lead and deliver improvements to our cloud-first digital workplace, overseeing a large Windows and iOS device estate. You’ll shape and drive the Modern Workplace strategy, boost automation, and enhance security and user experience using Microsoft technologies. You join a capable team to influence technical direction and implement new capabilities beyond day-to-day operations. • Act as senior SME and design contributor for Modern Workplace, identity and endpoint security
• Shape and deliver the technical roadmap and drive adoption of best practices
• Introduce automation and new ideas to modernise endpoint management
• Oversee enterprise-scale device lifecycle using Microsoft Intune for Windows and iOS/macOS
• Design and maintain device configuration, security profiles, compliance policies, and Windows Update rings
• Monitor device health, compliance, and remediation via Intune analytics
• Provide 3rd line support as a senior technical escalation point
• Drive adoption of Microsoft 365 and Copilot capabilities and governance discussions
• Develop Conditional Access policies based on device and identity risk
• Champion Zero Trust and Modern Authentication, MFA and device-trust controls
• Collaborate with Security to meet regulatory requirements while preserving UX
• Support Apple devices via Intune with Apple Business Manager integration
• Manage MAM/App Protection Policies across mobile platforms
• Maintain documentation, processes, and runbooks aligned with ITIL processes
• Participate as SME in projects and transformation programmes
• Support audits and security reviews relating to endpoint management and access

• Microsoft Intune at enterprise scale
• Experience in automation and process improvement for endpoints and apps
• Deep expertise in Conditional Access, Modern Authentication and Zero Trust
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Windows Autopilot
• Experience managing Windows and iOS devices at scale
• Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and device compliance experience
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement skills
