Overview

In this role you ensure the reliability, performance, and security of enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environments across a global footprint. You will work within the Global Database Team to design, deploy, and optimize database solutions, including cloud-based services, to support mission-critical applications. You’ll drive automation and governance while enabling modernization and cloud adoption. This is a chance to contribute to large-scale, cross-functional initiatives in a mission-driven, collaborative culture.

Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain enterprise SQL Server environments
  • Manage backup, recovery, replication, migration, and disaster recovery processes
  • Design and support high-availability and business continuity solutions
  • Administer Azure SQL Database environments (security, connectivity, monitoring, performance)
  • Proactive monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, and issue resolution
  • Troubleshoot complex database performance, availability, and operational issues
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, T-SQL, and related scripting
  • Configure security, access controls, and governance compliance
  • Apply patches, version upgrades, and licensing management
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, cloud, and security teams
  • Maintain documentation and database standards
  • Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for reliability, automation, scalability, and efficiency
Key requirements
  • 7+ years of database administration experience with enterprise SQL Server environments
  • Experience installing, configuring, and upgrading enterprise-scale SQL Server platforms
  • Experience supporting production databases in large, complex organizations
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud environments
  • Strong experience with SQL Server backup and recovery, replication, migrations, and high-availability configurations
  • Proficiency with T-SQL and DBA best practices
  • Experience implementing database security and governance standards
  • Experience patching, version management, and licensing concepts
  • Experience performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning
  • Ability to work independently and with global teams
  • On-call rotation availability
