Overview

In this role you will lead delivery of user-centred .NET solutions within a multi-disciplinary squad, guiding technical excellence and mentoring peers. You’ll collaborate across strategy, design and engineering to solve complex client problems and scale secure, well-engineered systems. You drive development and deployment pipelines, communicate progress to stakeholders, and help grow the engineering capability at Hippo. This is a chance to shape impactful digital services for public and private sector clients in an agile, collaborative culture.

Responsibilities
  • Lead production of user-centred software aligned with business requirements and best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver complex client solutions
  • Manage development and deployment pipelines, addressing bottlenecks proactively
  • Communicate prototypes, solutions and progress clearly to stakeholders
  • Foster strong relationships with team members and stakeholders to overcome challenges
  • Mentor engineers and support consultants in professional development
  • Promote Hippo’s engineering capability through knowledge sharing and community activities
Key requirements
  • Strong experience in .NET ecosystem with C# and ASP.NET MVC
  • Track record leading a delivery team to create robust solutions
  • Ability to coach others toward optimal solutions
  • Extensive full software development lifecycle experience
  • Advanced full-stack skills (C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with modern JS libraries/frameworks (Node, React, Angular)
  • Deep knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and Microservices architecture
  • RESTful APIs and distributed systems expertise
  • Proficiency with agile methods (Scrum, Kanban, TDD)
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and public cloud (AWS or Azure)
  • Proficient in CI/CD tools (Jenkins or Azure DevOps)
