Senior Network Architect

As a Senior Network Architect, you will design scalable, secure network solutions to support SSE's modernisation and growth. You’ll craft architectures that align with business goals, integrate on-premises, cloud, IT and OT networks, and improve visibility and security. You will lead technical direction, mentor colleagues, and drive continuous improvements using technologies like SD-WAN, Direct Internet Access and MPLS. This role sits within SSE’s IT division, contributing to a low-carbon, future-focused energy landscape.

• Design scalable network architectures aligned with business goals and existing infrastructure
• Implement security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards while monitoring performance
• Oversee third-party providers and collaborate with internal teams to deliver network solutions
• Drive continuous improvement of network services leveraging emerging technologies
• Provide technical leadership and mentor team members, guiding project implementation

• In-depth understanding of enterprise network architectures and their business impact
• Familiarity with network security and regulatory compliance requirements
• Knowledge of IT and OT, particularly regarding Purdue levels
• Proficiency with SD-WAN, MPLS, Direct Internet Access, ExpressRoute and related technologies
